Orthodontics
Braces are the most versatile way to straighten teeth and correct a bite. At OrthoalignX in Aishbagh, every braces case is planned and supervised by an MDS orthodontist.

Who braces help
Crooked teeth are only part of it. Many patients come to us for a bite that makes chewing difficult or teeth that wear unevenly.
Types of braces
All three move teeth the same way. They differ in how they look and how they hold the wire.
Stainless steel brackets with coloured or clear elastic ties. The most widely used option.
Tooth-coloured brackets that blend in with your teeth. Popular with adults and college students.
Brackets with a built-in clip that holds the wire, so no elastic ties are needed.

The treatment
Examination of your teeth, bite and jaw, and a talk about what you want to change.
X-rays, photos and impressions. You get the plan, timeline and cost for each option.
Brackets are bonded and the wire placed in one visit of about an hour.
Short visits every 4–6 weeks to change wires and check progress.
Braces come off and retainers keep teeth in their new position.
Living with braces
Brushing. Brush after every meal, angling the brush above and below the brackets. An interdental brush cleans between the wire and the teeth. We show you how at the fitting.
Eating. Roti, rice, dal and sabzi cause no problems. Cut hard fruit into small pieces and avoid biting into food with your front teeth.
If something breaks. A loose bracket or poking wire is not an emergency. Cover the sharp end with orthodontic wax and WhatsApp us a photo so we can fit you in.
Sports. Wear a mouthguard for cricket, football or any contact sport.
Questions
Most patients wear braces for 12 to 24 months. Mild crowding can be quicker, while bite corrections and severe crowding take longer. You get an estimate after the consultation and records.
Fitting braces does not hurt. Teeth feel sore for three to five days afterwards and for a day or two after each adjustment. Soft food and a regular painkiller such as paracetamol are usually enough.
No. Adults can have braces at any age if their gums and bone are healthy. Ceramic braces or Invisalign are popular with adults who want treatment to be less visible.
Avoid hard and sticky food that can break brackets or bend the wire: chewing gum, toffee, chikki, gajak, whole nuts and ice. Cut fruit and vegetables into small pieces instead of biting into them.
Teeth tend to drift back towards their old positions, especially in the first year after braces come off. A retainer holds them in place while the bone around them settles.
The cost depends on the type of braces and how complex your case is. We give you the full cost for each option at the consultation, before treatment starts.
