Teeth cleaning: scaling and polishing
Even with good brushing, plaque hardens into tartar along the gum line. Tartar cannot be brushed off and leads to bleeding gums, bad breath and, over time, loose teeth.
Scaling removes tartar above and just below the gum line using an ultrasonic scaler. Polishing then smooths the surface and removes stains from tea, coffee and paan.
A cleaning takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Teeth may feel slightly sensitive for a day.

Braces and aligners work best on healthy teeth and gums. Before orthodontic treatment starts, we check for cavities, gum inflammation and old fillings that need attention.
During treatment, plaque collects more easily around brackets and under aligners. Regular cleaning protects your teeth so they come out of braces both straight and healthy.

How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
Every six months is a good routine for most people. If you have gum problems or wear braces, more frequent cleaning may be recommended.
Does teeth cleaning damage enamel?
No. Professional scaling removes hardened tartar from the tooth surface without harming enamel. Teeth may feel slightly sensitive for a day afterwards.
Is root canal treatment painful?
Root canal treatment is done under local anaesthesia and feels much like having a filling. It relieves the pain caused by an infected tooth.
When do I need a dental crown?
A crown is recommended after root canal treatment on a back tooth, for a tooth with a large filling or a crack, or to replace a missing tooth as part of a bridge.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We see children for check-ups, fillings and preventive care, and recommend a first orthodontic check around age 7.
Can I have fillings or cleaning while wearing braces?
Yes. Having general dental care at the same clinic makes it easier, because treatment can be planned around your braces or aligners.
